Southfield An online, searchable database is being launched that catalogs immigrant resources and service providers across southeastern Michigan.

The Welcome Mat Detroit website launches Tuesday. The occasion will be marked with an event at the Southfield Public Library featuring immigrant service providers, community members and government officials.

Welcome Mat Detroit, which bills itself as an immigrant integration network, says newcomers need access to such resources in a region with a foreign-born population of 365,000.
